What is hypnosis?

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural condition that we all experience daily without thinking about it, it can be seen as a focused state of attention.

Consider, for example, when you last read a book and were caught by the story so that you experienced the scenes in your mind. This condition is a focused state of attention.

Another example might be the last time you walked or drove home from work when you were so engrossed in your thoughts that you were surprised when you were suddenly home. Maybe you were wondering where the time went and how you got home.
How does hypnosis work?
During hypnosis, we try to put the conscious mind on pause through relaxation, making it easier to work directly with the subconscious mind. The aim is to create better conditions for an internal communication where you can easier influence your feelings, thoughts and behavioural patterns.

Important to know is that no one can be forced to do or say something against their own will during hypnosis. In order to experience a hypnotic state, you need to be able to follow instructions and be able to concentrate on the therapist's voice.

In Powermind's hypnotic audio tracks, we focus on guiding you towards positive changes of your thought and behavioural patterns.
Is hypnosis dangerous?
No. Powermind's hypnotic soundtracks provide guidance for a lighter hypnotic state that you control yourself.

A common misconception is that during hypnosis, suggestions is put into people's minds when they are not aware of what is happening. That is not the case. You are always in full control and we cannot change you in any way that you do not want yourself.

Another common misconception is that you are not aware during hypnosis and then wake up from a magical trance with the expectation of being completely different and changed. This is not the case either. Unfortunately, movies and books about hypnosis have created an incorrect image of hypnosis with unrealistic expectations.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and you create your own changes.
